Connecting Hearts: Understanding the Research on the Symbiotic Bond Between Horses and Human
Did you know that horses can not only feel our fear, but also our love and appreciation? When we increase our heart coherence, the horse's heart rhythm changes also into a more coherent pattern. Horses respond to the emotional information that we ra ...diate from our hearts. The special bond between humans and horses and the role that the heart plays in it has been studied by Professor Ellen Gehrke and researcher Ann Baldwin in collaboration with the HeartMath Institute. read more

Importance of Resilience
Emotions in particular drain the battery. It's about energy management. Through exercises you increase the stress resistance and thus your energy supply. You learn to keep control. There is a connection between heart rhythm variability (HRV) and self ...-regulation. Here you see the difference between an incoherent and a coherent heart. Frustrations or anxiety appear on the screen as a capricious HRV pattern. A sign that the brain and nervous system are not in harmony. Positive emotions such as appreciation and happiness show a fluid HRV pattern. Body awareness and exercises are the key to a well-functioning autonomic nervous system. Those in a coherent state send positive signals from the heart to brain parts that are involved in decision making and creativity. That is why current leaders want to be coherent. read more
Howard Martin - Engaging The Intelligence of the Heart
Passionate TED Talk from Howard Martin, one of the founders of HeartMath. As a little boy, he already felt that life was about progress and service to others. This led to the discovery of the heart as a life's work. He tells that humanity is on the ...threshold of a social, spiritual and cultural revolution. One of the phenomena that has arisen is an understanding of the importance of heart intelligence. We discover new physiological aspects of the heart and beyond that it turns out to be a source of wisdom. It is intuitive, it has discernment, here our authentic self arises and here important emotions arise. He does not mean this in a philosophical sense. At HeartMath they do a lot of research and have discovered that the heart is really more than a heart pump. It appears that the heart constantly sends information to the brain via the nervous system. It is also part of our hormonal system and produces a hormone that is meant to reduce the release of the stress hormone cortisol. Moreover, the heart radiates electromagnetic energy in a measurable field in which we influence each other's mood and feelings. He explains that they do not just focus on the heartbeat, but on heart rhythm variability. This rhythm tells us something about the quality of the signals from our heart to the brain. He shows the difference between coherent and incoherent heart rhythms via software developed by HeartMath. A volunteer experiences the heart breathing exercise in real time and the audience sees her heart rhythm become coherent on a large screen. Then Martin takes the audience to a completely different level. He takes the step from personal and social coherence to global coherence. There is evidence that when a large number of people radiate the same emotions, there is a global effect. Both for positive and negative emotions. In the case of a natural disaster or other bad news, you can sometimes feel that around you as a ripple of energy. Research makes this feeling visible. Moreover, their measurements show that a strong collective emotional intention has an impact on the geomagnetic field of the earth and the ionosphere. Conversely, it appears that the electromagnetic field has an effect on people's health and social behaviour. This kind of research falls under the Global Coherence Initiative, for which HeartMath places sensitive magnetic sensors worldwide. They experiment and measure the connections between the magnetic fields, events in society and the emotional state of people. If that works, it is proof that our thoughts, feelings and intentions are more 'real' than previously thought. It is, for the first time, that we are tuning in to the changes in the heart rhythms and brain waves of our planet. The purpose of HeartMath is not only to provide scientific evidence, but especially to bring people together to bring about positive changes in the world with the power of the heart and energetic intentions and to facilitate the new wave of evolutionary thinking and life. read more

The Hearts Intuitive Intelligence A path to personal social and global coherence
The Spiritual Heart -- is in a way a little like a smart phone, invisibly connecting us to a large network of information. It is through an unseen energy that the heart emits that humans are profoundly connected to all living things. The energy of t ...he heart literally links us to each other. Every person's heart contributes to a 'collective field environment.' This short video explains the importance of this connection and how we each add to this collective energy field. The energetic field of the heart even connects us with the earth itself. The HeartMath Institute (http://www.heartmath.org) is helping provide a more comprehensive picture of this connection between all living things through a special science-based project called the Global Coherence Initiative (http:///www.heartmath.org/gci.) They hope to help explain the mysteries of this connection between people and the earth...and even the sun. Scientists at the HeartMath Institute (HMI) have already conducted extensive research on the power of heart, the heart/brain connection, heart intelligence and practical intuition. Whether personal relationships, social connections, or even the global community - we are all connected through a field of electromagnetic energy. Increasing individual awareness of what we bring to this field environment could be the key to creating a sustainable future, a future that we can be proud to have helped create. What is Social Coherence
With our thoughts, emotions and attitude we radiate an electromagnetic energy that influences others. How do you feed the field in which you are connected to others? Researchers of HeartMath make visible how it works. They can measure improved heart ...coherence in lay people who are surrounded by people who are trained in heart coherence and thus keep their appearance positive. Creating coherence lifts others, as it were, towards more relaxation and a more pleasant feeling. Social coherence is a stable emotional tuning in relationships and ensures that there is an efficient flow of energy and communication. When more and more people are practicing social coherence, we can create a world in which we would like to live through body awareness. read more
